Mould making at Van Ranst
We make a mould from your original model, so the same design can be cast again.
Would you like a piece of jewellery or small object cast several times? At Van Ranst, we make moulds from an original model, also called the master model.
With a mould, we can make new wax models for casting. Ideal for jewellery collections, repeat orders and series work.
Moulds in various sizes
From small jewellery components to larger objects: we have various mould sizes.
Standard size
For pieces up to 4.5 × 5.5 × 2 cm.
Larger moulds
Up to 9 × 15 × 2 cm. This lets us make moulds for larger bracelets, small art objects and other special designs, for example.
Special sizes
For larger or deeper pieces, we look at other options. For unusual dimensions, we first check the technical feasibility and, if needed, prepare a tailored quote.
Natural rubber moulds and aluminium moulds
Natural rubber moulds
This is our standard method. Rubber moulds are suitable for reproducing a wide range of jewellery and small objects.
Aluminium moulds
For certain designs, for example with very fine details, straight lines or sharp corners, an aluminium mould may be advisable. We only recommend this when it is technically necessary and always discuss it with you beforehand.
One piece per mould
At Van Ranst, we make one mould per individual design.
By not combining several different pieces in the same mould, we can reproduce each design separately and better tailor the production process to the desired casting result.
This also makes it easy to reorder one specific design later.
Which metals can we make moulds of?
Natural yellow vulcanising rubber is suitable for most metals. Below is a clear overview of the main points of attention.
