Company Goetz in Antwerp assigned us with the engraving and goldplating of a lingot weighing 15 kilos! First, several stamps and the word "SPECIMEN" had to be engraved carefully in the slightly concave surface. Then the lingot was thouroughly cleaned, degraised and electrolytically plated with a thin layer of gold.
In our galvano department, we continuously plate jewellery and other small items and we must admit that these are much easier to handle.
