By offering their clients a spectacular main prize in a contest, Hertog Jan succeedes in bringing many visitors to their brewery. With the purchase of each crate of beer, the buyer received a key. During a visit to the brewery, the owner of the key could try to open the door of the vault. The main prize was bag with gold coins with a value of ten thousand euros. Van Ranst produced these two sided coins in 18 carat gold. The brewery only just managed to meet the increased demand for their beer and ended up ordering a third set of coins with Van Ranst.
